Looks like a nice seat! Better than a 737. I would be happy to sacrifice IFE for that.

Indeed. Some of the 738s don't have IFE anyway.

Bring an iPad?

At least you got to stare at yourself in a mirror for two hours?

Not everyone have or would be willing to carry an ipad though, I personally don't find them worth bringing.

I guess this is MH's nod to the golden years of travel, w/o IFE

They seem to be flying set routes, particularly for regional flights, and the Adelaide flights as well...

It's being seen in BKK, DPS, DAC, ADL among others

Didn’t know this. Why is MH leasing birds from Air Berlin?

Frankly for short haul flights or medium haul red eyes, I don’t mind not having entertainment if the J seat is comfortable.

Those were Air Berlin planes, but since they collapsed, the planes were returned to the lessors who in turn leased it to MH who kept the interior though.

Seat is actually quite narrow, but very private. My flight today KUL-BKK was on the A332 and it had some IFE, 5 movies I’d never heard of but some half decent TV shows. Spent the 2 hours watching Major Crimes with blue and green actors though.

so slightly random if you'd get A332, A333 or B738 if you're on a regional flight ? Guess this is why MH dosen't make standardizing their livery much of a priority either

It’s a pity that they got new(er) planes but worse (if not none) IFE. Was expecting some improvements in regional flights when these 332 arrive, but doesn’t seem to be the case.

The planes are actually older than their existing A330s. Given how the IFE systems on the ex-AB planes are different from the MH planes, I would imagine them trying to integrate the MH system into these planes eventually, but not yet, especially how they seem to be planning to keep these jets for a while.
