Checked baggage dimensions

Hi,

Checking the Malaysian website, it's says checked baggage "maximum dimension length+width+height is 158cm".

Stupid question, is it saying no one side can be more than 158cm (i.e. I can take a gigantic suitcase on) or the sum of all sides must be less than 158cm (I can only take a modest size case on.)

Thanks for any help!

Sum of all sides. Having said that, while this rule appears in luggage restrictions for many airlines, I have never been called out on it, despite regularly travelling with odd-sized luggage. YMMV though.

OK thanks. It sounds a bit mean (the other airlines I checked all allow much larger bags) but it is what it is.

As long as you're not travelling with an unreasonably large or odd-sized item, you'll have nothing to worry about. The weight of the bag is more important.

The carry-on limit of 7kg is also quite stingy, but it's usually not strictly enforced.
