Airbus 380 KUL-NRT-KUL

Seeing some dates August 10 onwards when the A380 is being used for MH88/89, instead of the usual A330. They aren't selling F yet, so presumably some lucky J passengers can try out the main deck F seats.

For such flights, F is usually closed off. No pax are seated there.

Ah, is that right?

I have, in fact, managed to score seat 2K on an upcoming Business Class flight in August. Would be disappointing if they changed it to the upstairs cabin.

I've heard 3-4 examples now from the SYD/MEL A380 runs - you can even OLCI to the F cabin but they'll change it at the airport.

Glad I brought it up here. Now I will be prepared for the disappointment. The J cabin is quite empty though, so it won't be so bad.

Glad to report, I flew in "Suite" 1K last night. They had me go aside right before boarding because I was holding a 1K boarding pass. Although I could not understand the interaction between the agents, seems like Business Class was packed and they let me take my originally selected seat.

You probably got lucky with the full load ^

If they can accommodate everyone upstairs, they won't open the F cabin.

The crew downstairs was surprised as well. "First" went with two empty seats.
