Economy basic

Hi,

Just looking at booking an economy basic ticket - it states no lounge access, does this just mean with the ticket or does this also bar you from using OneWorld Status (sapphire) to access lounges on these tickets?

Thanks

You'll have all your benefits as per your OW status if you have your FF # on the booking or can show it upon check in or at the lounge.

Thanks. Just used to BA and their economy basic tickets which have no checked luggage or seat selection even with status (well that bit has just changed).

BA & the US airlines are in a downward spiral league of their own with basic economy. So many complaints! They are the exception - not the norm.
MH basic fares come with full FF benefits (lounge, check-in etc) although, obviously mileage may vary depending on the fare class and FFP.

The "Basic" fares aren't necessarily the lowest. Unless something has changed I think "Promo" is the lowest category. But neither are in any way equivalent to the US/European Basic fares.

MH basic >> BA regular economy. MH Basic comes with 30kg baggage allowance and complimentary standard seat selection plus whatever OWS/OWE are entitled too (lounge access, priority security etc.). The "not allowed" lounge access is for regular non-status Basic Y pax.

Thanks - looking froward to trying it out.
