Confirmation number?
I booked a couple of tickets on the website - everything went fine and received our reference numbers.
When I attempt to retrieve our bookings on the website it says I have too many characters ( maximum characters are five ). My reference number has six letters? I had a heck of a time even finding the manage my bookings on the website - I had to do a internet search then get into it from there? Any assistance, tips? |
Also I would like to add. I purchased these tickets on Sunday and nothing has been noted on my credit card as of yet? I just found that odd?

Malaysia Airlines are in the process of migrating from their existing booking system (5 character codes) to Amadeus (6 characters). I think the "manage my booking" page you found is legacy from the old system, and will probably be replaced once the migration is complete on 12th June.
Having said that, the last time I booked a ticket, the E-ticket email had both the 6 character code and a 5 character code. The latter was given just above the itinerary next to the text "Airline confirmation number". |

The MH App does show both 5 and 6 letter PNR after you add your trips.

Ok now it looks like the website is changed over as it is saying for customers to enter their 5 digit number to receive their new 6 digit confirmation number (that I have). Where on earth can I find the location on the website to enter my 6 digit confirmation number to manage my booking?
There used to be an area for "Manage my Booking".....now I can't seem to find it anywhere on the website? |

Just to update, the *new* iOS app does this as well now, you will need to find it in the App Store.
Ah, Seat selection / adjustment now works with the updated iOS app. (I will say, updating the app and having all your data / trips cleared? Seems to be lacking in thought there...) |

Only way you can do it (as of now) is through Android app. Download and do it.

Thanks for the advice! But I cannot add my flights, so no seat selection for me.
Or, try using your e-ticket number to add your flight. Failing which, you will need to call the call centre |
I emailed them like 2 weeks ago just asking the question? No response whatsoever.

Apparently this should work
