Massive Devaluation? Effective 10 June
Received an email today informing about the 'NEW' Enrich program launch
Refer to FAQ published on email:
https://www.malaysiaairlines.com/con...&bid=847174235
Pain points:
1. Seems like the lower fare buckets i.e. 'S' and 'N' classes will no longer be eligible for one way upgrades. Flex tickets sometimes cost more than 'Z' class tickets so this is sad news for me
2. Seems to have merged the old Zone 3-5 into Zone 3-4. The shorter distance redemptions have lost value IMO.
Let me know what else you guys think?

No details as yet.
I believe this is going to be a massive devaluation for long haul redemption such as AUS-LHR or even North Asia. Shorter flights in economy might reduce in price / points required but I'm worried about my future award redemptions for long haul in J. Another step down the drain for Enrich after the massive devaluation a couple of years ago.

This is bad. The previous deval wasn't terrible considering Z earns 160% mileage vs 125% on most other airlines, but the new one is surely whack.
I see MH pushing Enrich to be a spare inventory filler rather than a meaningful customer retention/loyalty program. Second and third order consequences will be dire.

This is a step backwards by MH.
I really do not think they have looked at the numbers carefully.

My experience on trying to redeem Enrich on QF and QR is immediate confirmation if available and ticket issuance there and then. For EK flights, Enrich has to request and wait for EK to respond later.
