MH Bali - Kuala Lumpur in C

Hello!

I will fly the route Bali - Kuala Lumpur (evening flight) in C / business class.
What kind of service can I expect? Is there a full meal service? The famous sate? And any alchohol onboard?

Thanks for helping!

Isn't that a 737? Well no matter which aircraft type you'll get a plated dinner.

No satay but alcohol is served.

There may actually be satay nowadays. In January I did KUL-PEN in business class, and there was 4 sticks of satay, a drink of choice, and a piece of chocolate. For a flight that was less than 40 minutes!

You'll get a full meal, and alcohol is served on flights longer than 3 hours - this flight is exactly 3 hours long, so I have no idea if they have alcohol nowadays (they did the last time I flew this route, but that was also before they changed to these new rules)

Sure no satay? We even got Satay on the short SIN-KUL hop a few weeks ago.

You get a decent meal on a tray, with a full drinks service. One standout is the availability of Glenlivet 18 in the mini bottles.

No satay on this route from my previous experience, nor on the BKK-KUL flight.

Worth noting I've previously gotten satay on PEN-KUL and KUL-SIN, but these are the meal service (i.e. no other hot food is provided).

On longer A330 flights like SYD and PEK there is a satay service from a trolley with all the trimmings, in addition to a main and dessert.

I did the return KUL-DPS on the 737 in February 2017 and I am pretty sure there was Satay on both trips. As others have said there is a tray meal and full alcohol service. The only downside was that the male CC could not serve me alcohol; he had to get his female colleague to do it. I assume this was for religious reasons.

I have just flown this sector in Business (KUL/DPS)

There were NO satays. The meal was identical to the one shown above and alcohol (at least, wine) was served. They didn't have the wine on the trolley to begin with, so be sure to ask if you don't see it. They were very good at keeping my glass topped up during the flight - in fact overall the service was excellent on the flight.

I flew to Bali last weekend for a conference. No satay served. Alcohol was available.

In-flight service was consistent as usual. No complaints.

Only two complaints:

-Still no WIFI capability
-Same old movies being recycled in the entertainment suite

Sometimes the A330 also does this route. I have seen it at DPS. That said, the 737 is fine and MH service is usually very good.

The A330 will return sometime in May/June on MH 714/715 (9AM-ish ex-KUL) 6 days a week.

Thumbs down No more A333 service

Looks like it's an all B738 route now.

Yes, saw it today morning. Tried booking flights to Bali for the holiday week of national day and noted no 330's being offered which sucks. I dread to board one of the 737's and find out it's the older 800 series aircraft in their catalog of assets without any IFE for a 3 hour flight.
