No alcolhol on yesterday's MH851 (KUL-DPS). When I requested a glass of wine I was told, rather abruptly "we don't have wine on short flights". I'm not surer why a 1200 miles, 3 hour flight is considered 'short', but that's just me. Anyhow... this policy sucks and I really wish MH would reconsider it.
shame really. does MH even have a strategy in this alcohol cut ?
is it about cost cutting or pressure from certain groups who don't want alcohol served. If it's the first then definitely an example of penny wise, pound foolish. If it's the later than why not just cut alcohol completely so customers know what they're getting beforehand.
No booze in business class on the Bali-Kul
aftrrnoon service, then?
Back October / November time I flew KUL - DPS - KUL - BKK in J and on the 2 DPS legs I had to turn down one of the frequent offers to top up my glass. BKK flight was back on the 7 up
They did serve alcohol on the return flight, which was on a A330. What frustrates me is the inconsistency. MH, get your act together. This is ridiculous.

As far as I'm aware as frequent flyer (though less frequent recently for obvious reasons), this hasn't been changed.
And I don't think the policy is going to get any better anytime soon!
