New business class on MH A330 from April 2016

MH's new J :

J drops from 36 to 27... guess what happens when you lose 25% of your cabin capacity?

Looks like staggered seating arrangements, wonder what's the first long haul route the first aicraft will be used on. Wonder if there will be any changes to Economy.

Nice new seats but actually like some have said on this forum, I would have preferred the old MH with their Business- product and their low end pricing. If I wanted full flat direct aisle access, I have SQ.

Not sure. But from what i see in the pictures, this new cabin is 6 rows, alternating between 1-2-1 and 1-2-2 - and crucially doesn't take up the same amount of space as it did before.

The cabin for the current product takes up the entire area between door L1 and L2 and is 16 or 17 windows long.

The new J only takes up 11 windows, leaving another 5 or 6 windows worth behind the J cabin, but in front of door L2.

Could be worth 2 or 3 rows of Y or 2 rows of Y+ or something like that.

But i'm with dfs24 - gimme a cheap J ticket any day than a new product I can't afford

There's still a sizable gap between what SQ is asking and what MH had, though.

I just remarked to a friend that this is basically Aer Lingus' current J cabin; same CEO same treatment, eh?

Guess they'll add in more Y to fill up the gap.

HATE those seats. Reverse herringbone ftw.

How does that airline even have the money?

Maybe he got a friends and family discount from the seat manufacturer?

Probably first deployed on proving flights within Asia then on the Australian routes.
