5 Star Hotel NYC - Looks like the Jetsons Live There
 
Does anyone know the name of a Five Start hotel in Manhattan New York that is owned by a Middle Eastern Shiek & looks like the Jetsons (Cartoon) lived there? Its very modern and wild looking.

My first guess would have been the Hotel on Rivington (for the very modern interior design), but AFAIK it is not owned by Middle Eastern interests.

THOR is not a five star hotel by any stretch of the imagination. I have trouble calling it anything better than a 3.5*. THOR is the only hotel that I've walked out on after seeing the room.

Is it the interior or exterior of the hotel which looks like the Jetsons lived there? I am having troubles thinking of 5 star hotels with modern design AND middle east ownership....

The Gansevoort Hotel used to be great ... but it's just 4****
And I don't know owns the hotel :D

The Essex House is owned by Middle Eastern investors, but it's pretty staid.

Possibly The London, modern and previous owner was RHIGA Royalty, which sounds like it might be a ME Shiek, but actually a Japanese firm. Not 5* but very nice 4*.

i think they were trying to give as much info as they had..

the "problem" i think is its probably boutique (if starck etc) and that means not "5 star" as defined either by mobil or the standards of this forum.

Are you referring to a new hotel in the Meatpacking district? If so it is probably the Standard. It opens sometime this month.

The Standard has been open for a while. The Standard Grill is packed out every night.
