Huka Lodge

271 Huka Falls Road Taupo, NZ 3384

Return to Huka Lodge finally (0 Photo)

Huka Lodge

Preamble

After having to abort our return visit as borders closed , we were relieved to be able to celebrate a milestone birthday at Huka . But like all places in New Zealand , we were not able to host friends as the lodge was also facing service issues and the full team was not back . Nonetheless , we enjoyed ourselves and instead " amended " with pre & post parties , not in Taupo where we were told no restaurant would be appropriate .

This review along with others had to be been delayed or still incomplete due to jet lag , CHRISTmas & Chinese New Year being in January ( 15 days ! ) , health issues in the household and not least , being involved with the longest running global DO !!

Yes , facilitating the SIN DO for a day while under the weather .

In the midst , rescheduling flights and trips & ongoing now for the next in March :)

Thanks for your patience , need to figure out and then shortlist the numerous photos taken too ..

Pre arrival & arrival

Lots of emails and a couple of calls to arrange our stay

Return to Huka Lodge finally

Would you like to write a review on the Huka Lodge?

No, thank you.

We would return to Solitaire !
Did not want to be in the Rotorua area because of the sulphur but , thankfully , none of the odour was evident at the lodge . If we have to be in the area again , we would not hesitate to stay but will choose an even larger suite .
We had hoped to be at the Robertson Lodges , as mentioned in earlier post ( s ) too .

Hope this helps .

The NZ TRs will probably resume while we are in Morocco next month ..
Been rather swamped with travels , some “ work “ , along with injuries , still recovering too .. must be fine for the next LH ( not the airline ) to ZRH !!

Thank you for the response! My uncle visited Solitaire Lodge combined with Matakauri and raved about the combination, so my interest is piqued for this type of trip.
