Introduction I will post two reviews because we stayed in separate suites before and after a week-long ultra deluxe canal barge "cruise." I traveled with my good buddy Nancy from Brooklyn. This covers my fourth stay at Le Bristol, 10-12 September 2021 Check In Smooth and quick. Greeted by name at the curb, ushered to reception, greeted by two managers, escorted to room. The early checkin (1pm) was sincerely appreciated. I was fequired to show my CDC vax card. No fuss about the lack of a passe sanitare. Voila! Room 10-12 September -- Prestige Elysee suiteI am a fan of Le Bristol's traditional Parisian decor which is pleasing to my eye and very comfortable. It is not distastefully oppulent yet elegant, chic, and exceptionally comfortable.The floral coverlets some here bemoaned have been retired in favor of crisp white linens and color cooedinated throw. The Prestige Elysee was an upgrade obtained at booking. It comprised very large living room, huge bedroom, marble 1/2 bath and large marble bathroom. It was furnished with exceptional tub, modest-sized rainfall shower, toilet cubicle with bidet (Yay France), two hand sinks, heated towel racks, a comfortable rattan chair, assorted lovely toiletries, linen hand towels in addition to terry. Orchids in the bathroom.Living room was comfortable and chic -- two couches four armchairs, desk and chair, sideboard, coffee tables. Four flower bouquets. Lively spacious room with two separate seating areas. Upon arrival there was champagne, chocolates, macarons, huge bowl of fruit, still and sparkling water (replenished daily), hand-written notes from management and Hao, my travel enabler.Bedroom was enormous and tres comfortable. Included couch and seating area, desk with chair and a make-up console. And, another bouquet of flowers!An elegant, comfortable suite that was balm to my jet-lagged body and soul. Dining Room service was very good for Nancy but my low-no salt diet was difficult. Location It's a lovely part of Paris, the 8th arr., around the corner from the presidential palace so very safe with high security. Fairly central for many museums. Overall Unable to say how much I love this glorious hotel that is so welcoming of its guests. Our stay was perfection. Service Superlative

What did they do to provide superlative service?

Great review.

Fruit bowl changed daily.
Top sheet provided upon request and remembered from from first stay to second.
Room service tea and coffee delivered in 15-20 minutes.
Electrician connected the cpap machine to French electricity at floor level, provided adapter.
Greeting by name consistently. And, I fear I have become quite fat-headed by being addressed as Madame Lewark, take note.
Housekeeping was helpful and kindly when I was sidelined by back pain, checked on me. Also, when I showed them my cat photos they were suitably impressed and showed me their chat photos. I love this place!
Upon checking in, staff noticed my difficulty with stairs and contrived a work-around.
PCR express test arranged within an hour; done in our suite, results delivered asap.

Concierge services
Obtained opera tickets for the Palais Garnier production of Iphegenia et Tauride just seven hours ahead of a largely sold out performance, and best seats.
Fixed a reservation I made with a food tour company.
Recommended best Giverny tour operator and arranged tickets.

What’s lost in this list is the ubiquitous kindness and competence of all with whom I interacted.

I love Le Bristol! Haven't stayed, but have visited twice and everyone you interact with there seems to be a star. Clients always enjoy.

I agree that Le Bristol has really upped its game and that the refurbihsment has made a huge difference. So happy to see the back of all that chintz.

Did you happen to dine at Epicure? If so, what was it like?

Epicure opens October 1st. A bit later than Le Cinq (which is fully booked well into November).

Sounds like a great stay, but that decor looks dated in a bad way to my eyes.

We always ask for a a top sheet and blanket in lieu of a duvet. We've never had a problem, except for one hotel that put the top sheet over the blanket, so the blanket was next to our skin.

No kettle and fixings in the room?

That's really the key. Consistent competence and kindness puts one in the top few percentile.

I like the decor. It seems very classic Parisian.

It's the lamb chops which worry me. Who threw them at the plate?

Richarddd, yes, there was a kettle and a coffee gizmo — I’m just spoiled and lazy. Used both methods.

Oh, yes, that decor is tres tres Parisian and I love it. Plus none of those too-loww-to-the-floor seats that threaten to dislocate one’s knees upon arising.

Ate twice at 114 Faubourg — splendid and just the right amount of French fussiness. Will cover that in my next review (when I get around to it). Epicure still was closed, as indicated above.

the pictures to me just looks like there is something missing from the decor to be 'palatial'. Maybe a taller mirror, or more crown molding? Perhaps its because the curtains are drawn, and I appreciate that other hotels often go over the top in this regard but these photos look like someone took a large room and plopped some nice furniture into it, kind of like the lamb chops on the plate. I've never stayed, but was thinking about it for next time after really enjoyed the ambiance and experience at Epicure with that courtyard and the cat, not sure i would now

To each their own, sounds like a nice stay with excellent service which probably trumps all else, glad you enjoyed yourself.

Le Bristol's style is probably my least favourite of all Parisian Palaces, but I have to say it's very particular and many absolutely love it. It works much better in reality than on pictures, the whole ambiance just doesn't reflect very well on most pictures. It's a nice property. AND they have Leah Marshall, who really really should be GM by now.

Leah Marshall is one of my heros.
