Encore Boston comments

Not sure where to post my short "review" of my week end at Encore Boston

I loved this hotel. . Basically this is wynn in Boston's area on a much smaller scale but with nicer rooms than in Vegas

Few comments :
- Check in on Friday evening was long , 6/ 7 persons in front of me , about 10 minutes wait.
Someone giving bottle of encore branded water and also "encore empty bags Same bags they use for doggy bag at their restaurant
- There is also a tower suite registration opposite to the main registration with nobody there
- Booked a regular "water room" asked for an upgrade to their "signature suite" (standard type suite) and offered for an extra USD 130 / NT . Which is a very good deal and I took it.
I did ask the rate for their 2 BR apt and it was USD 1130 per NT which is about half of their rack rate.
- The suite was at the 26th floor which is the top floor
- The room / suite is beautiful, really beautiful. Make me think of a parlor suite but with upgraded furnitures and amenities
No steam shower. Large Jacuzzi tub with a drying functions when all water is removed (there is a noise so don't be surprised)
- You have the choice between 2 views : water view (which is almost OK as you see mainly the industrial area around and little bit of water) and regular view. (which is only the industrial area )
- The area around the hotel sucks. There is basically no walking area around the hotel
- There is a small mall at 5 mns driving distance (were I bought some tape to repair the bag that AA or DL broke)
- There is a small and beautiful boat in front of the hotel running every half an hour to downtown. The ride takes about half an hour. The boat ride is free until 03/31 then will be charged USD 7 per personn
- If you want to use Uber / Lyft, you have to cross the entire casino and go to the parking garage so not convenient for departure with bags. Took a lyft from Boston car rental center at BOS and a regular taxi on the way back from the hotel to the airport. Rate was about the same USD 25.
- Lyft from downtown to the hotel was USD 15
- Service in the hotel is good to very good.
- Turndown was missed one evening despite I specifically asked for it
- Otherwise housekeeping was very good and very detailed
- Tablets and Alexa available to control the room
- Plenty of goodies in the bathroom like in an asia hotel
- 670 rooms only
- The hotel self parking was available on Friday evening but full on saturday evening. You can still valet your car and there is an extra parking in the area
- There is no pool in the hotel
- The SPA is beautiful. Swimming suit required in the Jacuzzi which is not co ed. They do provide disposable underwear
- They do not offer 50 mns massage only 80 mns and longer . Rates are higher on week end. The massage was very good.
I usually book 50/ 60 mns and the 80 mns did make a difference
- The food is OK or good if you feel generous . I had dinner at the steakhouse and sinatra and one breakfast at the garden restaurant and one via room service.
The dining rooms are all beautiful. The biggest issue is that the service is very slow. Probably they're not fully ready for the week end crowd
- Believe lot of locals are going there. See some Asian tourists
- the casino is physically separated with doors and security people from the hotel side
- Some of their restaurants (for example the buffet) are on the casino side so you can not access with kids. I didn't see kids in the hotel neither
- The buffet was very good. Probably the best meal I had there and I usually don't like buffet (the buffet is not open for breakfast, only lunch and dinner)
- The casino is basically one large room with a mezzanine for high player
- There is now daily show like in Vegas

If I'm in the area, I'll definitely go back. This is probably the best room accommodation in boston's area . This is much better on all aspects than Foxwood / mohegan sun (can't be compared)

If you have any questions, I'll be pleased to reply
