Four Seasons Resort Lanai
We recently returned from spending Thanksgiving week at Four Seasons Resort Lanai. We stayed at the resort before the renovations, and we’ve been back twice since. The FS Lanai is gorgeous and one of my all-time favorite beach resorts. To avoid duplicating what I’ve written about previously, I thought I would simply share a few updated thoughts and some new pictures as a part of this review.
- The resort is lush, with beautiful landscaping and gardens. It is also very quiet and a true hideaway. Perfect for honeymoons, babymoons, couples, and very good for families. FS Lanai is also one of my top choices for a beach vacation over Festive.
- We have never had any problems finding chairs at the pool, overlooking the ocean, or on the beach. The chairs on the beach are typically set up in a single row, and the ocean views are awesome. In our experience, guests don’t rush to claim chairs at FS Lanai like they do at some other resorts. I love this aspect of FS Lanai… everyone seems to be extra relaxed and civilized :-)
- The snorkeling off of the beach is great, with lots of different types of fish, and occasionally a pod of spinner dolphins.
- The variety of available island activities is exceptional. The UTV Tour, Snorkel Sail, Sunset Sail, and golf are some of our favorites, and I highly recommend them.
- While we were there, the resort hosted a three night run of the “Lanai Sunset Sessions”. G-Love, Eric Krasno, and Ron Artis II performed together with the ocean and sunset behind them. This was complimentary and so much fun.
- Good to know: All FS Preferred Partner bookings receive a daily breakfast credit of $132 per day. For golfers, an 18 hole round is $350, or you can become a “Member For A Week” for $1,350 which includes unlimited golf for 7 days. Transfers to and from the airport & ferry dock are included for all guests.
The resort was almost fully occupied while we were there, but you never really feel it because there are so many activities that keep guests moving in different directions throughout the day. FS Lanai is very special, and if you are traveling without kids you could combine it with FS Lanai at Koele, A Sensei Retreat for a fantastic beach, adventure, and wellness vacation. More on Lanai Air and FS Koele next….

We flew on Lanai Air as a part of our stay at Four Seasons Lanai in November and loved the experience and convenience.
- As soon as you deplane from your arriving flight in HNL a VIP agent is waiting to greet you at your gate.
- The VIP agent escorts you to baggage claim to retrieve checked luggage.
- From baggage claim we were immediately escorted to a waiting Cadillac Escalade, and transferred to the private jet section of HNL. The ride is 5 minutes.
- Lanai Air has a private lounge with refreshments, snacks, restrooms, etc.
- After 5 minutes in the lounge, they were ready for us to board the plane for the 20 minute flight. We departed much earlier than what had been scheduled.
- We landed on LNY and the plane pulled up to a Tesla Model X that was parked on the tarmac waiting for us. Within minutes we were on our way to the resort. The other guest on our flight was in a separate Tesla.
We have flown to and from Lanai on Hawaiian airlines on past trips and would pick the Lanai Air Pilatus every time going forward if we can.
I booked on Pacific Wings out of Lanai. Supposedly a scheduled flight departing at 10pm. Took a hotel car. Arrived and all the lights at the airport were off and the doors were locked. Security guard said that there were no scheduled flights that evening. While having this discussion landing lights appeared in the sky, plane landed and the pilot walked around to the front of the airport. Guard unlocked the door to the airport. Pilot led me through security (which was not staffed,) loaded my bags and we took off. Landed at HNL, taxied up to a chain link fence in a dark area of the airport. Pilot got out and pointed me to an unlocked gate in the fence through which I exited. Walked 1/4 mile down the road to the terminal and caught my connecting flight out of HNL. Private but very weird.
