Cape Weligama, Sri Lanka

Two questions:

1) Has anyone stayed here and would you recommend it - pricing out at around US$550 for my dates
2) Virtuoso rate offers USD$100 F&B/spa credit, whereas Amex FHR offers a free dinner for 2. Which one is the better value benefit? Tending towards Virtuoso for the flexibility in how the credit can be used, but grateful for feedback.

I would highly recommend it. The resort has a rustic feeling to the rooms and suites with a lot of real wood and neutral colors. Like some of the Indonesian Amans or Belmond Governor's Residence. Amazing sunsets and tons of pool options including the Indian ocean. Their cliff infinity pool rivals Amanoi's.

Thanks - I drove past the Belmond Governor's Residence in Rangoon and definitely will give it a try on my next visit to Burma!

The other alternatives I was looking at were Amangalla and Fortress Resort Koggala. Amangalla is a different proposition (more of a city hotel in the fort area) and Fortress Resort is nice but doesn't seem to be at the same level as Weligama.
