Jerusalem luxury hotels with pool

Its been years since I have stayed in any of the Jerusalem properties instead staying with family in the city but based on scheduling I am trying to decide which of the few contenders might have the best pool area for a weeklong stay in August.

The last time I stayed at the King David was probably a decade ago and I can appreciate the history and uniqueness but the pool area was as I expected totally overrun and felt more like my local Boys and Girls club (including the yucky plastic chairs). I have visted the WA for events since it opened and think it probably has the best room products but without a pool I wouldnt consider staying there.

My sense is the only luxury like pool options (maybe limited to design alone vs service and calm) are at the David Citadel or the Isrotel Orient Hotel? I am also looking at the Inbal but am concerned that pool area looks like the King David Boys and Girls Club type set up?

I would appreciate any input from the wise minds of this forum about the best option for relaxing my a lovely pool without having to head outside central Jerusalem.

As an aside, are there any programs similar to Virtuoso/STARS for the Isrotel properties - specifically the Orient?

Thanks for sharing your advice.

Although Mamilla only has an indoor pool, it is a lovely hotel, owned by Georgi Akirov, who owns SET hotels (Lutetia Paris, Café Royal London, Conservatorium Amsterdam). https://www.mamillahotel.com/

Thanks I have visited Mamilla a few times since its opening, the roof is especially nice and I am sure the pool is nice in the cold weather but during most of the months - especially in beautiful Israel - I love to be in an outdoor pool.

I love the pool at the King David, and the times I've been there it has been not too busy, but I can see why it could be crowded and annoying. If you found the pool at the KD wanting, forget the Inbal, it's almost as bad the old Shulamit Gardens Hotel in Eilat. What drives me nuts about pools in Israel is this fixation with opening late and closing early. People, it's 40 degrees outside 6 months out of the year!

Its possible that Mamila can arrange access to the David Citadel Pool, as they are sister properties across the street from each other.

Main issue with the Jerusalem Hotels (not sure about KD) is that they sell access to outsiders on a daily or monthly basis. When I lived in Jerusalem we had a membership at the Inbal and brought the kids regularly.

If you swim in the mornings or early afternoon during school season then the KD or DC are usually quiet. Otherwise, expect a crowd.

Also, I would not classify the Inbal as "luxury" as much as they'd like to think they are.
