Christmas in South-East Asia

Evening all,

Recently decided with the wife that we're going to spend Christmas away this year before going to Singapore for New Years. Starting the trip off at the FS Tented Camp, have a 5 night gap over Christmas before heading to Singapore for New Years.

Any insight on how to spend those 5 nights would be fantastic!

Thanks all in advance.

You can see if any availability at Amanpuri or Trisara . Or check out the new River Wing at MOBKK , reopening in November .
Or other Amans in the vicinity , Sara in Siem Reap or Taka in Luang Prabang .
Easy to get to from Thailand & Singapore .

It's not exactly Southeast Asia but I've enjoyed the Christmas decorations in both Tokyo and Seoul, although Tokyo tends to switch to New Year decorations on December 26th. IIRC Raffles in Singapore does the same, with Christmas decorations going up around USA Thanksgiving and being removed (back to no decorations, although you soon begin to see Chinese New Year decorations around the city) during the night of December 25-26.

Be careful about the mandatory expensive holiday buffets (or other special parties for all hotel guests) during this time.

CHRISTmas decorations in Japan are quite nice , what we saw last November including Osaka . Nothing compared to Singapore ‘ s though , though last year ‘ s was rather a disappointment .. Usually up by late October ! Noticed that they were ready earlier & earlier in recent years ..

They come down early January to prepare for Chinese New Year
For hotels , depends on their NY Eve plans like at Raffles ..
