There's 5 Amans in Indonesia which works well as a route or in isolation. Same in Japan I guess...

Wouldn't be surprised re: Aman Okinawa - maybe a private island type place somewhere? Would actually be interesting and complete it well.

If anyone’s interested in Camp Sarika at Amangiri there appears to be someone there now. Check out the story in IG

This is a masterclass in how to destroy a brand.

Aman Niseko

It is sad that all the hotel rooms are in a single long, blocky boring building. The rendering of the cantilevered pavilions turns out to be the houses and not the hotel. Too bad the design sense at Aman is declining precipitously.

The 'dude' called Servais writes for The Gallivanter's Guide and his rumour is rock solid.

😁😆 I know - but an older man who calls himself „anarchist“ should stand a joke... 😅😝

I am currently in the Dolomites for a Christmas break and was informed by a local: Aman is investing in the absolutely wonderful Rosa Alpina (Alta Badia).

Next Christmas trip to Aman Rosa Alpina !?

Haha 😄😁😆 - a Hotel with 30 sqm rooms and a tiny 12 meters main pool coukd never ever be an Aman, even if the Chef has 3 Michelin Stars!

I would speculate it could become part of Doronins Janu discount brand as a maximum, or maybe it’s only a financial investment, since the hardware is too small in all dimensions, and the rooms do not have any panoramic views at all...

I am not going to speculate but current single rooms at Rosa Alpina are larger than entry level rooms at Le Melezin.

Uh, you‘re right - and the rates at Le Melezin are on the completely absurd side (2500 Euro for tiny tiny rooms)....

So happy to be in the best alpine resort right now!

Enjoy Schloss Elmau and Merry Christmas!

And PS re rates: absurd pricing goes for all the Courchevel hotels IMHO. Aman not even being the most expensive. Alta Badia for instance is friendlier for the budget and is a better experience (seriously nice skiing and great F&B). Do try the Rosa Alpina next time
