Lizard Island caters to children 10 years old and over.
like many others in AU, but age is getting closer!

whats available at 'lagoons' at atlantis? (and kahala?)
for atlantis could return to ocean club now under FS
though if atlantis offers any onsite, likely super expensive
some aquariums offer diving/snorkeling, some expensive

Kage mentioned it in a PM. Looks interesting, but maybe a little more rustic than what I had in mind. Trip advisor reviews talk a lot about mosquitoes! Not obviously child friendly, either.

Ive been following the Montage Maui on this forum for a while now. There are some good choices in Hawaii.

The full snorkel face masks sound interesting. Have to look into that! Thanks.
Seychelles were my first time snorkeling, especially FS was very nice. This is quite a benchmark for the future😉

What do you guys think of this idea for Hawaii? Apparently, the Big Island has the good snorkeling. Kauai...not so much. Kauai is a bucket list of mine though.

BIG ISLAND
- Four Seasons Hualalai (4 nights)
Enjoy the beautiful property and good service. Teach son how to snorkel in King’s Pond.
- Mauna Kea Beach Resort (4 nights)
Swim and snorkel at the nice beach. See the manta rays.
Possible volcano activity, cultural activities and other snorkeling while on big island.

KAUAI
- Hotel TBD (2 nights)
See the Napali Coast via helicopter or boat/snorkel

A few things I’ve learned...the Princeville St. Regis has been sold and will likely close for a refurb and rebranding. The new Timbers seems to have a 4 night minimum.

I like the Big Island option.

Shana Dickerson Event Planner and VIP Concierge Services | About Us might have have some Caribbean ideas that I am not familiar with. I have used her services several times over the past couple of years, always very pleased.

Good news. United just announced they will fly SFO-PPT year-round beginning March 2019.

Free UA business class to PPT via SFO completely solves the problem then. Better to spend that $20k on the resort instead of getting there, methinks^

Looking into whether at least one business class seat will open up as a saver. The standard award right now to PPT would cost us 1,050,000 miles. Hardly free. LOL!

Have I mentioned how much I love flyertalk?

Maybe call to 1k or Global Services reservations? Of course, it would also be a great deal if you could upgrade with miles or SWUs on economy class fares. Definitely not free, but at least less than $20k to get you there and back.

Maybe your son will be using his new snorkeling skills learned in Hawaii again in Bora Bora sooner than you had thought

Yes, FlyerTalk changed my life. Particularly the collective knowledge in this forum is worth its weight in gold, but also all of the award ticket and upgrade advice in the airline fora make travel so much better!
