Hyatt Regency should be excluded from the big boys table in Kyoto luxury now. Just does not hold a candle to the other properties. The upcoming PH may be more appropriate.

seem to recall regency having insane peak rates, could be wrong. above rates show suite entry rates are about same between regency, FS, RC.

Agreed - always like the option to just go for a daily breakfast rate only, and that extends to secluded locations, but only if its cheaper (unlike Amanpulo - where the half-board and daily breakfast rates are the same). Although more rate types = more confusion too so...

The entry suites might be the same prices but the Regency suite quality isn't there. More business hotel than luxurious. Aman will definitely be in demand because the Kansai region has deep pockets, then, there's everyone else who will want to be there too.

This will be a disaster.
Nobody wants an ultra luxe resort when they visit Kyoto - they want traditional luxury like The Suiran and onsen.
I fear Aman will be closing this one before mid 2020s.

I think RC and FS do pretty well for modern luxury hotel rooms in Kyoto. This is just more of the same.
