Interesting and thank you for mentioning this. The TA I've been using never mentioned the PenClub rate. A shame since my last Pen stay was very recent---Shanghai--though I had a late morning departure.

pen is / was offering peninsula time to anyone booking on website

That could be. I was under the impression that they only upgrade to rooms with the same view you booked.

'published' is always one category, offhand only recall upgrade 'complexity' at SL paris
