Yeah, the "rustic" is what made me unsure - but then again, I didn't really like the St. Regis Bali, it was just too over the top for me.

Amanpulo is just so far away, we'll only have a little more than a week in SIN.
The beach at the Datai doesn't look that good...?
What about Bawah Island?

you looked at photos of bawah beach and rooms?
everything but pulo is tradeoff, but can get better room
"can it really be bad" - many/most expensive arent good
but depends on what one finds objectionable/bad/etc
i must be forgetting something if bawah look great and datai doesnt look that good

The beach at Bawah looked great?
The rooms were a bit hipster-like, but since everything is brand new and it's an expensive luxury resort, can it really be bad?
