Nekupe Resort - Nicaragua

Did a quick search and didn't see any threads about this resort so I thought I'd start one.

Just came across this article on bloomberg. The resort looks gorgeous.

Here's the resorts website.

Anyone planning a trip here soon?

Any information on rates? Can't seem to find any way to actually book on website.

Looks beautfiul - first real local competition for Mukul?

Also, on a side node, but has Mukul lost their mind with rate increases? I was going to book in early 2016 and rates were $500 / night. Now they seem to start at $1,300.

Same family owns Mukul. Rates start at $750 and includes meals

Interesting ... might be a nice Nicaraguan combo to get country/sea between the two.

Hmmm ...

I'd love to expand my horizons in Central America but require non-stop flights from SFO and that can be tough for nations other than Panama and Mexico.

may appeal for nature (especially) though has hunting (like some lux US ranches)

mukul owner's Nekupe - 4 villas + 4 suites, seems like sporting club.
if members & nonguest groups, curious whether acts as clubhouse.
close together villas are near "club" (makes sense) away from 4BR.
if "club" is clubhouse (like some other properties) 4BR still separate.
not sure if club/villa traffic is by 4BR or not (looking at googlemaps)
https://www.google.com/maps?q=nekupe zoom out, rooms left/right

mukul has condos etc, rates not high, presumably less when direct with owners

I'm curious if anyone has a recent experience at Nekupe? I'm looking at booking two rooms - so considering between the Villas or two suites in the residence, and would love to know more about the experience.

One additional, for those who have been to Nicaragua.. we were thinking of going late September, which is rainy season. I'm not worried about some afternoon showers or thunderstorms, but more so what the humidity and heat is like, and how oppressive it might become for activities and being outside. The option to move to November, when it switches to the dry season is there, but if it doesn't make too much of a difference, I would probably prefer to go in September.

And to follow up... given Ortega's persecution of the Church in Nicaragua, decided not to give tax money to the government here and canceled the trip. Headed to Panama instead. Hopefully one day I'll be able to visit.

odd, maybe never closed, presumably since 8 rooms
original clubhouse turned into a second 4BR
original 4BR (to east) seems removed from inventory

mukul closed 2018, seems to have reopened, minus bohio suites
maybe they ended up selling beach villas, so all residence rentals
