PHV had many happy children of various ages throughout the resort and the adults were respectful and didn’t disrupt their vacations
I would feel very comfortable bringing children for a week here.
I am now at the FS Geneva and am very happy with the choice to stay here. It is a “little George V” in many ways, including the not to miss hot chocolate. More soon...
There is a choice of rooms and suites which are decorated in either a traditional French style or a modern Swiss chalet style, both by Pierre Yves Rochon.

Mégčve is in France, this thread is about Switzerland
FWIW: I have not stayed at the FS Mégčve but did hear lots of negative feedback from previous staff who are working now at places like Alpina Gstaad and are much happier about guest policies and service levels. That says a lot IMHO.

This is the best hotel in Geneva by a wide margin, and a destination hotel. The stunning lobby, Clefs d’Or concierge Ben Garner, incredible food (which usually does not impress me), the Pierre Yves Rochon designed rooms both modern and traditional decor, the delightful top floor pool with roof skylight and views over the city, the delicious Japanese restaurant, Izumi, with views of the city from the terrace, Italian restaurant Il Lago, the talented therapists at the spa, and standout housekeeping lead by the incomparable Director of Housekeeping Beata Lajos, all work together to ensure a restful and luxurious getaway.
The location is in the heart of the city, with views of the Jet d’Eau, the old city and an inner courtyard garden. Some rooms have terraces, some fireplaces, some are modern, some have traditional decor. All are beautiful. If you have a strong preference be sure to let them know.
The spa has separate mens and womens hamam and steam rooms. The pool area has loungers overlooking the city and hot tub with a lounger in the water and powerful jets to stand under. There is a quiet relaxation area with hot ginger tea, like the George V.

No, but I enjoyed my stay at the Hotel Schweizerhof Bern a few years ago. Great location across the street from the train station. At the time of my stay the Palace just looked rather frumpy (online).

Any recommendation for 2-4 nights in Switzerland for a couple with a 5 y/o child? We where scheduled for the usual Maldives next month, but abandoned this due to current unpleasant travel environment.
PHV looks like a solid choice.
But is there anything else I should consider?
Eden Roc ? Something in Gstaad, like the Alpina or Palace ? Le Montreux Palace? Something like LeCrans? Or even maybe Grand Bad Ragaz?
Nice pool, top service & food in luxury environment and child-friendly are the key.
Thanks & regards,
El Puerco Volante

Checks all your boxes. Absolutely great for families as well
If you can visit both then it's a great contrast as well.
Please do note that due to all the new COVID procedures and operational circumstances, service levels across many top properties are a bit lower than usual. But you should still have a fantastic time at either/both. Cheers!

I'll continue to advocate that Park Hotel Vitznau and Alpina Gstaad are fantastic options!!
