Ritz-Carlton coming to Budapest
Ritz-Carlton has taken over management of the Elizabeth Park Hotel. The hotel will undergo a multi-million dollar renovation before being rebranded as the Ritz-Carlton Budapest in the first quarter of 2016.
This property was previously Le Meridien Budapest. |
Makes some sense, Budapest is a hot destination

Just checked out. There are many architects running around with plans all over the hotel. The hotel needs a fair amount of renovating so I don't see how they can open as a Ritz Carlton early next year. The real deal breaker for me was the Viking River cruise information desk smack dab in the middle of the lobby that seemed to be manned 20 hours a day. Certainly the hotel could set them up in a more appropriate location that didn't make all guests feel like they were boarding a river cruise!

Interesting, but I guess it won't challenge the FS Budapest as the best hotel in town.

Going to check this property out in July/August, will split time between the RC and FS. Will report back.

Absolutely lovely hotel! I'll try and update when I have time.

I agree that this ex-Meridien is a nice hotel, but I wish they had redone the tiny bathrooms. Very good food and helpful service. I also like the buzzy location.

Is it a reals competition for the FS?
