They are on the Visa Luxury Collection program though, which offers a list of benefits, but no availability for my dates with them.

Even without any perks, the rates are usually VERY reasonable at the ManilaPen, you can usually find a suite for under $300 or certainly under $400/night and this (as I recall) gives you breakfast, club access and whatever else you'd want.

I will take this as irony.

To begin with, 300 USD/night might be okay for Tokyo or Singapore, but not for Manila. And as I mentioned, Marriott is bookable for about 200 USD, which will give me lounge, breakfast, suite and a huge chuck of points.

But this is a Peninsula, not a Marriott. For a Peninsula anywhere, that rate for a suite is reasonable.
