Yes I did. That is why they upgraded our suite to the largest. And it was only ok. Large, with all amenities but strange design. Not to my taste. We had made our restaurant reservations through the hotel and that had been handled well from home. It’s a good thing as calling from the room there or trying to see in person required a long wait. We had to check out at 4:00 am to catch our flight and there was a line again at check out. We enjoyed Torronto but will not stay in the FS again.

It is amusing that the GM cites "legendary" service as one of the hallmarks of the experience in Toronto, yet fails to deliver. And this used to be better under Dimitrios Zarikos, who got the service aspect right. I wonder if a few Beverly Wilshire habits slipped into Toronto?

The suites were always awful and I do blame Yabu Pushelberg for it.

Montreal opening moved up to 8 May now from 1 June
Rates are discounted by 20% in this new opening period
The property is giving FSPP clients both spa and F&B credit for stays of 2 nights or more until 30 June, but unclear if this blends with the 20% discount above

even more unclear is if the spa will even be open by 8 May

Certainly trying to pull clients away from nearby Ritz Carlton based on price elasticity

Four Seasons Doha to close next month (June 15) for extensive renovations, led by iconic Parisian designer Pierre-Yves Rochon. Aside from rooms, they are doing the lobby, Seasons Tea Lounge, Arabica Café and a new restaurant!

Interesting they have chosen to close to the hotel, vs. doing it while being operational. Very exciting. Must return, hopefully they are able to re-open by year's end.

Athens is open, we had the first feedback in this forum.

I wrote an email to Madrid pre-opening office but never received an answer. Nevertheless canceled my trip to Madrid in September as I'm not too keen to stay at the actual alternatives at the claimed prices.

Christoph Schmidinger and team are already very excited to open this landmark hotel!

Wise choice to wait, if you can reschedule.

Montreal is now open!
My friend has stayed and liked the room so much he want to replicate the design for his own bedroom!
I haven't heard more about his stay, though, and I'm really curious to try the hotel myself! (but I prefer to wait a couple of months after the opening)

While I know how incredibly profitable and successful this hotel was, FS Damascus is no longer managed by Four Seasons as of now. A very sensible decision to be honest on behalf of Four Seasons, but it seems they had no other choice.

Will update if I hear more details.

I can confirm that the design of the hotel is great. F&B needs work. On the one hand, having a non-local celebrity chef is just ill-conceived IMO and, much of the breakfast food seems totally uninspired. Hotel service is great, but still housekeeping timing needs work. The strengths of the hotel are the front office CS, the design and excellent use of technology in the rooms, the fabulous spa, gym and superb pool. Thanks for booking me Besvisor!

A view of Leonard Cohen is highly recommended.

I thought the same thing when I saw who was the chef!
I mean, Montreal has such a great culinary scene it's a shame they chose an american chef. The same with the Ritz and Boulud or the Casino of Montreal with Robuchon.

FS to manage a second San Francisco property:

Didn't this use to be the Mandarin Oriental?

BTW, is the Belize project under development yet?
