Who owns MO LV? MGM Resorts I think... there you go.

I tried the MOLV shortly after opening and, uhhh, disliked it, so I went back to the FS.

I'm on an extended trip at the moment and I've been testing the '65F' AC setting:

- The Upper House HK doesn't even allow the thermostat to go below 70F. And the AC couldn't handle 70F. I woke up sweating several times in a 2-night stay.

- I'm at the MO Singapore right now and frantically trying to figure out how to check out. I've already run afoul of the dress code, whatever it is. And the bathrooms have a design error that is making me queasy.

- I go to FS SF and the Carlyle NYC next. I'll check the AC in both places.

.... hate Vegas ....
How low did the temps at Aman Tokyo go? I remember you were there last month.

bhrubin's "I only visit hot climes when there really is something to justify my visit" - I must admit - had me laughing.

I laugh, of course, because I live year round in JAX/CHS... Florida & South Carolina during the summer is like wearing a fur coat in a sauna.

I know, I know. I'm built to not handle warm weather--even at 70 F, I begin to sweat profusely, and by 75-80 F I am very uncomfortable even if just sitting in shade. By 80+ F, I am extraordinarily miserable. That's why I don't mind June Gloom here on the California coast, and why I cherish living in Newport with the cooler temps and breezes. It also explains why my Florida clientele understands my refusal to visit except in the Nov-Feb timeframe!

(On the other hand, I can be shirtless and perfectly fine in a wine cellar at 55-60 F. I scuba dive without any wetsuit even at 70-75 F (water temps), and numerous divemasters have tried to match me and still come up hypothermic after just 10-15 minutes, even as I'm down for over an hour! I'm a bit of a freak in this regard, admittedly. I dived the Blue Hole in Belize to 144 ft depth without a wetsuit several times, and the divemasters on our boat and numerous others were incredulous that I could handle the 5 thermoclines, with a lowest water temp of about 68 F!)

That explains my crazy demand for effective air con everywhere I go...and my fear of doing a live aboard dive trip in the tropics, where I'm fearful that the air con won't be sufficient to let me sleep comfortably. It doesn't stop me from traveling to where I want to go (Borobodur in May 2009 and Guatemala in Sept 2011 being some of the most notably viciously hot for me), but it does make me absolutely confirm air con effectiveness in advance...and more often than not also try to book hotel rooms/suites with private plunge pools in case I need a cool respite!

It also explains why I'm so loathe to wear a jacket for dinner at even the finest of restaurants...and why I emailed Achatz at Alinea to get permission in advance to not be required for a jacket even last May!

bhrubin....I was just there for the weekend too!

I always enjoy my stay at MO Vegas, but there were a few times that I needed to wait for my room too, it didn't me bother me quite so much though.

Sorry to hear about your experience, my air con over the weekend certainly didn't fail me, I actually turned the temperature up cuz it was too cold for me

This, I completely agree. Every time I stay at MO Vegas, I can always find either unusual charge or credits not applied on the final checkout bill.

Which reminded me....last time when I stayed there, I was late to breakfast. The staff at MOZen(where the breakfast is served) was kind enough and said I can order lunch item and the breakfast credit can still be applied.

Upon check-out, I noticed the lunch charge and told the reception lady that staff at MOZen told me the credits would be applied. The reception lady looked annoyed and told me "Normally we don't do this, but since you've been a loyal guest, we will honor the credit."

Nevertheless, I enjoy the room, the location, and the spa at MO Vegas. I hate casino hotels and like to be closed to shopping and restaurants, so MO is still my only choice in Vegas

I didn't test a temp as low as 65F, but I suspect Aman Tokyo would have no issue.

Same here, I love this non-gambling hotel, its location, room hardware, the breakfast (which has greatly improved over time). But the worst pet peeve/weakest link has always been the same during the very most of my stays over the past years: the front desk. Not recognizing/knowing about or applying MO Fan Club or Virtuoso perks like food/spa/breakfast credits to the final checkout bill on respective bookings has been my repeat experience here in the past. And having to argue about those published and promoted perks to be applied I do regard as game playing (aka bad front office staff training) and therefore as very offensive to the guest - certainly not a MO standard elsewhere. And don't even expect any upgrades with Fan Club or Virtuoso bookings here...

In our dozen or so stays at the MO, we've had to wait once for our room to be finished, and had occasional check out problems, which were handled promptly. Even with it's faults, it's my favorite place to stay in one of my favorite cities in the world. It's unfortunate the hotel was not at it's best for your stay. At least you weren't at the Bellagio.

what's wrong with Bellagio ?
I don't gamble but being in Vegas in an hotel that you can find at every corner (yes yes every corner) is not "fun". Just my 5 cents
I agree that the SPA is nice mainly due that that you often have the place for yourself or share with few people

Servicewise : encore tower or bellagio suite (so lounge check in = little wait) is "similar"..... OK now bite me : I found the service more genuine at Bellagio / encore tower than MOLAS.

Bellagio holds a high place in my hate list! .... for the masses! But I agree with you that I like a "Vegas-style" hotel. I enjoyed Wynn Tower-Suites. I choosed them over Encore because the Suite-pool and it was newly renovated when we stayed.

yes the unwashed masses

one of the reasons that I love this hotel : more people inside than outside.... look like a busy train / subway station it's a alive (the complete opposite than MO which is really an oasis of calm)

less room at encore tower than wynn tower so maybe better service there ?
location of wynn is better than encore
suites are a little smaller at wynn, but encore seems to love to waste space in their large suites (2200 sqm for a 1 BR ... it'll be a 6 BR apt in Paris

however location of bellagio is better (at least for me), so bellagio it is and it'll be for the eternity.

More seriously, seems that very good service in vegas is only for large gambler.

i wonder what arrival experience is like at mirage villas/lanais (from $1K)
https://www.bing.com/maps/?v=2&cp=36...80&form=LMLTCC

rio palazzo now publishes rates, which are almost as high as mansion
https://www.bing.com/maps/?v=2&cp=36...80&form=LMLTCC

both may have noise, but it would not be noise like encore clubs

wynncore salon suites have spa treatment rooms & full bar areas

Not this, but itīs a mass product. I had to watch soccer WM semi-final on a small tube tv in 2012 staying in a so called suite!

Canīt complain about the service, I got everything I needed. Location of Bellagio is the best, no objection. Wynn vs. Encore itīs right the suites are bigger at Encore. We had a Salon Suite with 1817 sqft which was big enough. Floor Plan is more or less the same, donīt know if you really feel the 400 sqft more.

If you wish to make donations, I'll be pleased to try and report

Per their web site, the lanai furnitures seems to be old ? (same furnitures than at Mirage pre renovation 10 years ago) but USD 1150 with private pool is definitely a good deal . (I found no date at precisely 1k)
there is no 1 BR "villa" and only starts at 2 BR ,?

IIRC rio palazzo seems to be in a quiet area.
Wonder why ceasar built that at the rio ? Is that their response to the mansion ?

MO Presidential suites have probably the largest shower I have ever seen (and a very high tech 2 people jacuzi). can't remember the one I visited, it was asian style, "Taipei" ??). The second BR is almost like a regular bedroom, nothing fun. MOLAS didn't correct a mistake ! the price tag has an extra zero... 10 k
