Rudding Park (UK) - luxury?
Looking for a proper luxury option for a 2 night country hotel stay in the North of England/Midlands with 2 young children in tow.
Someone on another forum suggested Rudding Park - is it in the same vein as Cowley Manor, Barnsley House, Lime Wood et al? My original post was moved but to my mind, this is the right audience for my query. If not Rudding Park - any other suggestions where there is a good spa and the children will be well looked after in terms of activities?
Thanks

I would say that Rudding Park is luxury. The lower entry room are nice but the suites and spa rooms are very nice. Only caveat is that it doesn't have a pool. The food is very decent. The service is very personal. I havent been to the lodges but have heard good things and would suit a family.
It is smallish however excluding entertainment I would say it equates to my last stay at the FS in Hampshire. I was the one who objected to it being moved as not luxury! In my opinion it is equal to many hotels that have personal threads on here. Until recently it was a bit of a hidden gem but the internet review sites have ended that. Afternoon tea and breakfast are very good.
Not sure how child friendly it is. They will welcome children but there are mostly adults and not as much entertainment as some other hotels- as I said no pool. The lower end room tariff may suggest it can be cheaper- however this excludes any weekends and seems almost impossible to get except Sunday evening.
In fact I may wander up there now for tea!
