How about the ME Ibiza? This modern luxury resort is a member of LHW:

The recommendation very much depends on why you are their. E.g. clubbing, relaxation, family vacation.

General tourism. A little party, a little relaxing, a little tanning.

How does the Hardrock compare to ME?

The Hard Rock is great but think 'lots' of party instead of a little. It's right next door to Ushuaia so you'll be subjected to their gigs whether you like it or not. And sound checks at other times. I've not stayed at the ME but the location looks like it might be more suited to your desired holiday style...

Isn't Ibiza one of the destinations that should be avoided at all costs or requires a villa?

Without a car it makes little sense to go to Ibiza.

Based on recommendations from this forum, I stayed at Es Trull de can Palau, a nice small rustic hotel a bit off the beaten path and consequently nice and quiet when we wanted to rest. We took taxis to go into the old town and to go to the discos. This was a short stay for partying, so we wanted a hotel that gave us comfortable surroundings to rest it. Es Trull fit that bill.

Old thread but looking to make a decision for Ibiza this summer. Considering the Nobu Ibiza Bay or the Melia Ibiza. Nobu is double the price but it is closer to the main party clubs, which is important. Looking for something nice that's still happening. I've stayed at Ushuaia before when I was younger but, although its marketed as luxury its just alright.

For Ibiza I'd recommend the boutique hotels e.g. Can Xuxu or Pure House. The chains really are not nearly as nice and in my opinion defeat the purpose of visiting.
