american express FHR now booking online

this has been posted in another forum but is relevant here, too...
american express has just opened a website for platinum members to book fhr rates online:

Yes, but only for US card holders. So the majority of us is still not able to do it. We get a message "Please call your Travel Consultant on the number at the back of your card.".

FYI, if the website says there's no availability..call (or just call in the first place ).

had someone just join a trip to vegas, website says no availability @ thehotel in vegas..callcenter just emailed me a confirmation.

Although bugs are never a good thing...

This is great news overall for FHR bookings; Cent benefits do NOT kick in on this site. The Centurion travel agents have dug their own grave for me by causing me plenty of pain and even a few dollars over the years.

Wish they'd bring this back for everyone again like it used to be. I really like to see this for Germany.

Just spoke to a rep and he said they are first trialling this with their Platinum members before they roll it out to Centurion members. They want to make sure that it actually works first
