Phew, the highly regarded Gallivanters Guide has given Aman Sveti Stefan the thumbs up on twitter. They are staying in the second phase on the island and apparently the spa is quite unique. (they are @gallivanters if you are on twitter)

Aman Sveti Stefan offers a total of 58 guest accommodations with 50 rooms, cottages and suites on the island and 8 suites at Villa Miloˇcer. The island’s accommodations are divided into Village Rooms, Cottages, Deluxe Cottages, Grand Suites and the Sveti Stefan Suite which has its own private swimming pool.

six spacious Suites in Villa Miloˇcer

two Queen Marija Suites are housed in a separate structure
wonder how island suites are arranged

It's a VILLAGE, so they're all over the place - some overlooking the sea and some the village square. Lots of steps of course as the island is a 15th century fishing village, complete with churches.

i meant detached vs attached (how many per building)

cottages, deluxe cottages presumably standalone
6BR milocer (suites)
2BR queen marija (suites)

- village rooms
- grand suites
- sveti stefan suite with pool

presumably the rooms and suites are attached, seems a little odd considering sveti has pool, but maybe its standalone? curious what kind of variance in number of rooms per structure.

Amankora will host a special seven-night yoga programme with yoga and meditation teacher, Cora Wen, from 21 to 28 October 2010.

From 10 August to 30 September, combine the discovery of Bhutan’s cultural treasures and spectacular landscape with freshly-prepared matsutake mushroom gastronomy at Amankora Paro.

Every room and suite is entirely different. They basically designed each one to fit existing structures, so in some buildings you will find a huge Grand Suite on the upper floor, then two smaller suites on the lower floor - a good configuration for, say, a family with kids and nanny.

The Stevi Stefan suite is stand-alone and is on 2 floors with a large garden, terrace and pool.

Other Cottages and Deluxe Cottages are in a 2 or 4-cottage building, whilst in some, you get 2 standalone rooms/suites in the same garden, so linked by the fact you can close the garden gate. Then there are the 2 suites on the southern edge of the island, which are within the 7-level tower where the second pool will be. It's complicated!

Spa cottages are often sited in the same building as a Cottage or suite, but there is no standardisation - every one is different.

Sounds amazing Vuittons! I will probably go back next spring and stay on the island. I loved the view from the loggia at Milocer and the aman service.

I much preferred staying on Sveti Stefan than in Milocer. The suites are much more spacious and, of course, it is an easy walk to dinner beneath the loggia at Milocer. Were The Olive Tree and the Queen's Chair restaurants open when you last stayed, Paul? There are now so many F&B options between the 2 locations that you never get bored.

No, just the one dining option at Milocer when I was there but with many food options(anything you wanted really).

wow, great info. 1BR > 4BR examples. fascinating that spa cottages are attached. does it vary whether they are set up to connect to accommodation or have private entrance?

are there any other accommodations in the 7 level tower with 2 suites?

No, the spa cottages do not connect with rooms - you have to go outside and into the spa cottage. For instance, the Sveti Stefan Suite's spa cottage is by the garden's entry gate - you go up stone stairs to a separate little 'house'. They all vary, but none actually connects to the suite/room.

There is no other accommodation in the 7-level construction, just the 2 suites, as this area houses, or will house, the Aman restaurant (fine dining), the fitness facility, a bar, several terraces, the indoor/outdoor pool, staff offices and at sea-level, the jetty, where boats take you across the water to Milocer.

Are you staying on the island or in Villa Milocer, Fliar?
