St Regis Bahia Beach Puerto Rico reopens after $60 million renovation

Finally! The St Regis Bahia Beach In Puerto Rico has reopened after its $60 million renovation post-Hurricane Maria.

https://www.hotelnewsresource.com/article103242.html

I was there in 2016 not long before Hurricane Maria and really enjoyed this property. We already are scheduled to be back in early February 2019.

Cabo is so chock-a-block with extant luxury venues, plus more coming. Is there another place on earth that sports so many, such density?

EXTANT
Auberge Esperanza
Auberge Chileno Bay
Montage
One & Only Palmilla
Pedregal
Rosewood Las Ventana

IN THE PIPELINE
Aman
Four Seasons
Nobu
Ritz Carlton

Many regulars may be rather lurkers now, perhaps FT is too much politically correct.
Travel patterns change and luxury comes in many colors and shades. Money has been too easy (especially in the US) these last years, but this is now definitely over and yes, value will be important again. One pays for an experience, not just a room at a hotel. This said it is a good thing that the forum has been renamed "luxury hotels and travel"

Important for my travels:
- time, no tight connections, no running around
- never fly economy class
- high quality food and beverage (on this I overspend)
- no overcrowding

Just gave up my LHW Leaders Club membership. Pointless while staying at a real luxury bed and breakfast or family run restaurant with rooms with no children running around and events going on. My last experience at a LHW was the middle eastern clientele at a 5 star hotel in Switzerland leaving their room doors open all the time with guards standing in front of the woman's rooms and then that smell.......

i admit i like (smaller) room in (larger) villa concept / B&B with dinner , NZ seems best country for it

flying paid economy has made me less interested in some ultra longhaul destinations including NZ

will jk paris be guest-only like other jk
30 rooms with pool, where will spa be

speaking of tiny edinburgh, 2 mrandmrssmith >
21212 Restaurant and Rooms hotel in Edinburgh with its four rooms might be small, but it has loads on offer. This boutique hotel of Michelin-starred chef Paul Kitching and partner is set in a gorgeous Georgian townhouse right on the staid Royal Terrace

[16 room] Dunstane House, a stately Scottish villa with a thoroughbred soul. Ten minutes from the city centre in well-heeled West Coates
i am starting to think that i like luxury properties which do not resemble regular hotels

PH Sydney is solid, could it be you mean FS Sydney? The latter is awful admittedly, though PH Sydney is not. PH may have peaked a while ago and aside from a few instances is constantly rated very highly by various people and publications, including this forum. I think MacMyDay had an issue, but seems to have been resolved by GM.

Nice article and idea & some familiar faces, though I wonder on what grounds they chose them.
