And there are luxury hotels in Saudi Arabia if you have a mind to go there.
Thanks. How about Europe or the Americas?

We went to Portugal 3 years ago during the first week in January, going as far north as Porto. The weather was mild and we enjoyed ourselves.

We've also gone from Barcelona north to southern France into the Riviera and Provence. It worked well for us.

We've also visited Morocco and Tunisia.

We returned one week ago from Vietnam. The weather was idyllic, low 80s. Be careful to avoid Tet, their New Year, when the country shuts down and everyone returns to their family.

I expect Courchevel isn't too busy the first few weeks of January. February will be very busy though. Ditto for many other luxury ski resorts in Europe.

Also the Canary Islands are technically Europe (Spain). Excellent RC on the south end of Tenerife. And an LHW on the north end.

first trip on emirates private jet, presumably not last
10 private first class suites and only 10 guests

emirates-executive.com/en/the-aircraft/configurations
yahoo.com/lifestyle/emirates-roar-africa-introduce-first-160226845.html

ROAR AFRICA Emirates Executive Private Jet Safari
Emirates A319 Executive Private Jet
September 2020, and available for just 10 guests
ten suites...spa shower, and a spacious lounge

Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, where you’ll stay at the Mpala Jena Camp, located on a private concession within the Zambezi National Park, overlooking the Zambezi River.

Botswana’s Okavango Delta where you’ll spend three nights at Duba Plains Camp

Kenya’s Masai Mara and a stay at Mara Plains Camp in the private Olare Motorogi Conservancy

Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park for a stay at the recently-opened Singita Kwitonda Lodge

Emirates jet will be used for the long-haul flights from and back to Dubai and the international flights within Africa, while private charters and helicopter transfers to the camps

carbon neutral

12-day ... $125,000 per person, with a portion of the proceeds benefitting the Great Plains Foundation.
would be smart for singita etc to offer quasi on demand
list price for using jet to combine singita etc destinations
requiring only 5 couples may not be hard to secure
aman etc could offer direct rather than via 3rd party
especially if starting in cities like new york, london, etc

Super exclusive luxury? Or, silly excess. As noted elsewhere, some tiny planes/jets can be more difficult than luxe.

I'm looking at a trip to Tianjin soon and not seeing many options. Neither is there much mention of the city on this forum. Would the St Regis suffice or can the non-branded "5" stars be trusted?

How about dealing with hotel staff in person?

Is there a better place to ask these questions?
I see it's been a while and no one has taken a crack at answering you, so let me try.

It it's an upscale or luxury Japanese hotel (including high end onsen that welcome foreigners), I'd just write it in English as you would a polite business inquiry, addressing the type of employee you are writing to by job title. Don't include Japanese honorifics even if they do, it's too easy to get them wrong. You will not be judged by the same standards that they apply to a local.

The same would be true for addressing a hotel staff member directly. Even if you are addressing something major that went wrong, it is best to not raise your voice and stay polite, but it is also reasonable not to accept less anything less than a resolution that you would consider fair.

These are not all, or even mostly, luxury venues but they’re all interesting.
