My Morocco trip has fallen through - really sad about that, was looking forward most of all to Kasbah Tamadot.

So next on the list I've got confirmed a staycation to see the updates at Landmark Mandarin Oriental end of this month. Also The Murray to come shortly I believe but still confirming dates.

If you're following my IG, my colleague is currrently in Bali - Viceroy then Soori.

Quick Viceroy feedback:
- They're building 10-15 new villas
- Common areas are limited in space (but that also applies to Amandari for example and many Ubud resorts due to how they're built)
- Service has been very, very good. Requiring signing for 25 keys is a bit annoying, but staff are attentive and know who you are etc.
- Food has been pretty good but not excellent.
- Maintenance/upkeep could do with major improvements
- Do not book the Pool Suite. It's horrible with a bad layout. If they dropped the price for it, still wouldn't book it (you'd be better off at Kayumanis/Komaneka/COMO Uma for the price range just below Viceroy). Terrace and Deluxe Terrace up.

I didn't know Aman had a hotel on Mars. Certainly trumps the FS Venus.

Honestly, Venus is a bit warm for my taste.

Please post your thoughts on Bisate lodge. There was a great review here a couple of years ago on the existing gorilla lodges in Rwanda, but Bisate looks great.
Very jealous

Ah is Mrs MacMyDay at PURE? The Moroccan visa is a joke...

Nice! Enjoy Amanzoe and that sounds like quite a trip coming up.

Colleague is currently at Soori Bali:
- Resort is really beautiful overall. Hard product is fantastic (but prefer mountain villa over the beach villa though both are the same price. Or better yet, go for the ocean upgrade which isn't much pricier) and the upkeep has been very, very good.
- Sand is much rougher than he remembers it from our last visit about 3-4 years back Not sure if that's because of recent events there. It was very fine volcanic sand, now the beach is a lot more rocky and it is high season there.
- Food has been average (strange how subjective/personal that is!) in contrast to some of the feedback on here
- Also saw some people comment on this in another thread (e.g. no signing not specific to Aman - other resorts in Bali are doing it too), but he has definitely had to sign for every meal etc at Soori Bali. This is now Soori (48 keys) and Viceroy (25 keys) that require you to sign.
- Beach/pool side service could improve marginally (very slow, basically - and attentiveness could improve) but otherwise pretty good
- Service on the whole has been good. It was better at Viceroy though.

Also currently planning a trip to Dubai and will see if I can fit Al Maha in.

Same...I am considering Bisate for Jan-Feb 2020, and can't wait to hear the review

I will be carrying so much camera equipment that they'll think David Attenborough is back. It is the property above all else I am looking forward to, but the one where the property is the least relevant part of the experience. A review will definitely be forthcoming.

Looking forward to it. Out of curiosity, how far ahead of time did you book?

January, but then a friend had the audacity to have his wedding on the same dates, so I had to move it and managed to be waitlisted in May and approved in July.
