Just booked one night at the Ritz in Philadelphia. I've never been to the Barnes and I'm fairly certain the only time I've been to the Philadelphia Museum of Art is when I was being pushed in a baby carriage by my parents.

Lovely, had a great stay! I really liked the green marble swimming pool (which is quite big but not heated IIRC so be aware of that when booking during shoulder season, although the temperature was really ok for us in May). We also enjoyed the beach club for drinks or lunches. Food was more than ok, quite a few very good local dishes. We really enjoyed our interactions and conversations with Igor (GM) and Asena (reservation manager).

A friend is returning today from a week long stay. Will make sure to ask her feedback. I do know that Ruya recently received their own boat and, based on my own boat daytrip at Caresse in 2017, I would highly recommend. The area is so lovely and you can easily do a picknick on a deserted beach or stop at local restaurant.

If there's anything specific you would like to ask, just let me know. Can also PM you e-mails of Igor and Asena when needed.

For this year at least, mind the 3+1 and 5+2 which are even offered during high season (opening year).

Welcome to Philly! Loves the Barnes. Make sure you download the audio guide on your phone and bring headphone. It's really good!

I called the Foundation and they said they no longer have the app

I'm so happy to get the free admission with BofA for the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

Just booked Japan (first time in Japan) for xmas / New Years, 9 nights.

Booked Andaz for the 4 nights. Thinking FS Kyoto for next 4 and finished with 1 night at the end at Aman Tokyo.

Happy to take any suggestions on the final 5 nights and restaurant recs.

We enjoyed a rare weeklong stay in Kyoto—it’s that amazing and with that much to see (and eat). We stayed 5 nights at Suiran on the opposite, more sedate/less touristy Arashiyama side of town and loved it. We also stayed 2 nights at the RC Kyoto (same side as FS Kyoto) and use that as a base to explore that side of town (and into the mountains to the north and eastern temples and shrines). You might consider an extra few nights on the Arashiyama side at either Suiran or the Hoshinoya, perhaps.

Love the trip!!! If budget allows it, I'd switch to 4 nights at Aman Tokyo and finish with 1 night at Andaz (since you're likely just spending a night for logistic reasons).
Otherwise, I do think Andaz is a great value and good call!

Loved Tempura at the Ritz C Kyoto and would suggest it to anyone who can appreciate tempura.

Just checked out, LMO Hong Kong.

Just checked in, Four Seasons London at Ten Trinity Square. So far, quite good despite others on FT having less than stellar experiences.

Is the pool area open at Ten Trinity?

You are covering some serious ground! Have fun. I am looking forward to your reports on several of these.

We'll definitely clock up a few air miles on this trip. I think it's around 50 hours of flying over 5 weeks. As for reviews, I'll definitely do Clayoquot, Kokomo and a follow-up to Laucala. I doubt there's much to add on the other well established and reviewed properties.

I’d love to at least hear your high level thoughts on Baccarat!
