I remember that you had quite a few service issues during your stay but I really liked my first stay in May (including a private champagne sabering lesson in my suite) which is why I'm returning tomorrow. Will report back.

Swapped out PuLi Shanghai to give the new StR Jingan a try in December. It's in the same neighborhood so the location is great. Based on early FT reports it seems like service is a little spotty, but to be expected given its been open for only a few months. Hard product looks fantastic.

Just booked my first ever Aman stay and for good measure I booked another a few days later.
June
Amanoi
September
Aman Sveti Stefan
I'm very curious to see how these stays pan out. My expectations are understandably rather high. I hope I'm not disappointed.
Keen to hear any advice re:hotels pre-Amanoi.
We arrive at 9pm on Day 1 and plan to leave early morning on Day 5 to make the most of our time at Amanoi.
It's our first time visiting Vietnam and I'm leaning towards doing all four nights (3 full days) in SGN, rather than heading to Danang or Hoi An.
Any recommendations for hotels in SGN? The Reverie, PH and Villa Song are currently topping the list.

After our trip to China in December I decided to take a few extra days in Thailand to get some R&R as the sig. other needs to get back to work. I was originally just going to slum it in some sub-$100 beach bungalow, but I saw what must have been a mistake rate of ~$175/night (refundable!) for the COMO Point Yamu (with Citi 4th night free). I grabbed it and am now looking forward to that stay, albeit solo, after St. Regis Shanghai and Amanfayun.
It's not the best location for diving, my main purpose for the trip other than relaxing, but I am already in touch with their activities team and it seems like they've got it covered.
