I've always thought that SOL was a good excuse to charge a lot of $$$ for wonderful views for 10 min...and almost nothing to really see or do.

Yeah, those kangaroos that you can see for free from the roadside throughout much of rural and even suburban Australia. Just going to any of the many Australian wine country regions allows one to easily see up to hundreds of kangaroos.

Southern Ocean Lodge is a beautiful property with wonderful views...but little to see or do to justify the outrageous prices IMO.

My planned trips including luxury hotels are:

November: The Suite Belle in Hotell Pigalle, Gothenburg, Sweden. Said to be the world´s most decadent hotel suite (article from Vogue: https://www.vogue.com/article/luxury...en-suite-belle). This is a birthday surprise trip for my husband.

February: Mahali Mzuri logde in Kenya

March/April:
- Sofitel Ledgend Metropole, Hanoi, Grand Premium room in opera wing with club benefits
- Emperor Cruise, Halong Bay, state suite cabin
- Four Seasons Nam Hai, Hoi An, 1 BR pool villa
- La Residence, Hue, Colonial jr. suite

Is he into Louboutin heels? The fashion aspect sounds tremendous fun. I guess that the over-large mini-bar will be more of a treat for your husband. Have a great time!

Not so sure if it's the most decadent but looks at least very funny! Enjoy

I loved my stay at Soori Bali, I stayed there in Dec 2015 back when it was an Alila. Extremely attentive service, great food and fantastic hard product. I'm sure it'll help you to forget the Oberoi

Hello fellow Instagram friend! Good to see you on here

It's a lovely hotel Soori - I'm actually glad it's out of the Alila group (Uluwatu was always going to be their 'flagship'). Has anyone stayed there recently though?
