Unless you care to take the ferry (or or super quick flight) over to Moorea, perhaps, but not particularly convenient.

My TripAdvisor review:

https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUser...y_Islands.html

There seem to be plenty of positive reviews...from people who don't get out much, it seems. Rooms poorly maintained, power outages are common, and the air con doesn't work well even with power. Management was non-existent for our stay, and was a disgrace even in response to our stay.

Consider yourself warned!
I stayed here and could not believe how awful it was, even after we upgraded and upgraded and upgraded. All the things you mention happened. Never again.

I guess I was lucky. Or had lower expectations. Or both.

It's an IC. In Tahiti. No upgrade is going to make it better.

No idea. But neither of our rooms had decent air con. And renovation had nothing to do with how pitifully bad the service was in so many ways during a mere 12 hour stay--front desk never answering the phone, multiple managers not handling things well, luggage pick up never coming after multiple promises, restaurant service horrible, etc.

Hoping for a TR or ER of COMO Treasury!

FWIW, we stayed at the Empire Retreat in Yallingup in 2007 amidst a 4 night wine tasting trip. Empire and Margaret River wine tasting were excellent. If you need any recommendations for wine tasting, don't hesitate to ask! Be warned--the area shuts down on Monday night, so restaurants are tough to find then.

(can combine with tenkunomori.net - 3 / 5 villas)

Seven Stars has been around for a few years and I bet a good alternative. I do wonder if it has been affected by the recent earth quake

Thanks. We recently lived there for four years so am very familiar with all the options. We enjoy the LMO for dining but for stays prefer TUH and 4S.

Finally leaving this week for:

Waldorf-Astoria Amsterdam (Grand Premier Room booked) - 3 nights
Aman Sveti Stefan (Deluxe Cottage w/ Terrace booked) - 5 nights
Lisbon (AirBnB w/ friends) - 5 nights

I know I've posted about this before, but been a long-time coming after an exhausting summer. Can't wait!

Thanks! Sorry to hear you won't make it in September.

Will try to throw together a trip report. I had intended to after our truly fabulous stays at Alila Jabal Ackdar in Oman and Four Seasons Dubai but never did get around to it...
