Psssst, keep it to yourself‏ (Lufthansa e-mail)

Just got this email, don't know if already posted....

Dear mahajanvikas,

This is still a secret so keep it to yourself. The day after tomorrow, a countdown for a very special offer will start on lufthansa.com that you would not want to miss. Make a note of Wednesday, 30 September 2009 in your diary - it will be worth your while. You can find out everything else from your Lufthansa Newsletter. You will be surprised...

There is a poll somewhere on the lufthansa website where the user could vote for a destination to get a special fare on 30/09 and 01/10. It was boston, abu dhabi and 2 more I can΄t remember. when i voted, Boston was leading by far. Fare was EUR 299.

I've never seen the poll but the results may be found here.

And that would undoubtedly be a non-modifiable ticket at that price, no doubt, if one wanted to change the date of return. Just wondering, because sometimes you can get surprising exceptions.

299 € for FRA - BOS really isn΄t that bad (though US regularly has offers in the 270€ range), does anybody by chance know if this offer will exclusively be bookable on lh.com or also on xp/.bomb etc.? (was just thinking about the possibility of a FD)

See http://www.lufthansa.com/online/port...l=en&cid=18002

But perhaps LH has something additional in mind.

I'm sure though that would be nearly free to cancel though, like the 99E local offers. Not really a bargain though, since like two or three weeks ago BOS was availiable for 349E, but a decent offer for us Y fliers.

Hi hope all this buzz is not just for a single promo for a single destination: it would be useless and worthless....if not stupid
I think and I hope they have something better in their mind.

Maybe a "99 euros 2 persons RT in Europe" (like they did in Italy this spring) or "pay your fly and take the hotel for free" or "all EU flights for 99 euros, all days, holidays included...but just for 24h"...

This is my opinion: if the LH marketing manager wants to contact me I have a lot of good ideas to share...

Well, the website does say "our 48-hour special with many more top offers! No guarantee they will be that special, though.

I think and I hope they have something better in their mind.
Like C specials instead of giving away seats through op-ups.
