LH C-class Europe - US for under USD 1! [fare gone]

LH's Norwegian website booking engine is now closed following an error that gave people the opportunity to buy trans atlantic business class tickets for less than 1 USD. Link attached (Norwegian only).

Business ticket for NOK 4.50

LH spokesperson is indicating tickets will not be honoured.

Yes, I think they should. My company always honours error rates when published in catalogs and websites.

There are reports of mistake fares/rates honoured albeit grudgingly.

I'm surprised that anybody seriously thinks that they shouldn't.

I wonder how sympathetic LH are to pax who make mistakes on their booksings ? Full refunds on non-refundable tix ? I don't think so. Sauce....goose....gander.....

I bought a ticket I F from Rome to NYC to Oslo I F for 29nok (5usd).
Got this email yesterday evening :

.
Med vennlig hilsen

The obvious problem in this case is that LH didnt even charge taxes (atleast govt taxes). If the fare was taxes + 1 usd, then dishonoring the fare might have been a problem.

They did but the amount was negative! At least they didn't fail to charge TSC.

So it is the TSC that made the payment +ve. Otherwise LH would have been paying customers to fly them in C.

I understand LH for not honoring an obviously erroneous fare. They do not want to set any precedent. This time they caught it after 50 tix issued. Maybe next time they have thousands of erroneous bookings.

And I found LH actually quite understanding and helpful when I once booked a non-refundable fare for the wrong date. They refunded it.
