Taking Lufthansa from FCO to FRA

I've got a Lufthansa 6:55 am flight out of FCO to FRA then to IAD all business class. If I stay in the Hilton FCO airport hotel, when should I leave my hotel room to make the flight? Do I have to clear customs for the FCO-FRA leg, or is that something I do at FRA or IAD? This is an award ticket so I don't want to miss my flight. Thanks.

FCO - FRA will be a Schengen flight, so you will have to clear customs and the final PP control in FRA. They'll check your PP at the check-in-counter but that's it. Have a good flight.

Security control lines at FCO in the early morning are really looooooong and slow, so don't be too late. There is no Fast Track facility. Lounge is Il Mossachi (or something like that) and is open from 6.15 (located just above LH gates) - you need an invitation, that will be given to you at check-in.

Leave the hotel at 05:45am and you will be in time for any evenualities in my experience.
