Lufthansa/Austrian merger now formally approved by the European Commission

The European Commission approved the LH/OS merger today. The merger was cleared according to merger regualtions, and the state aid investigation was closed.

Funny is how the Commission requires a reduction in capacity in the state aid case, whereas in the competition investigation, a concern is a reduction in capacity (and corresponding higher prices)...

Expect a comeback. As one-way fares.

On FRA-VIE.
