Hi all. Thank you so much for all the work you've put into this thread. I've spent an hour looking at some of the posts in this thread. Please tell me if I have this correct: I am flying next week BOS-FRA-TXL, all on LH. My inbound flight is currently scheduled to land at a Z gate; my outbound departs from an A gate. Assuming things stay that way, am I correct that I simply clear passport control and go directly to my departing gate without going through security again, as I would expect to do at most any other airport?
Thanks,
Peter
Thanks,
Peter

The LH guide service 75€ for upto 5pax and has the advantage of being a real LH employee who has access to the ressources to contact the gate of your next flight and ask them to wait for you My in laws once made a 25 min connection in FRA including immigration and extra US security thanks to the guide service

Thanks. Might make sense to put this in the sticky, since it is likely a recurring question. Might also be worth spelling out which int'l inbound transfers require security re-checks and which don't.

MAN-FRA-KIX layover time
I'm currently looking at this MAN-FRA-KIX itinerary.
Business class, all on Lufthansa.
I expect that I will have to go through security at FRA. Will the 1h15m layover give me enough time?
Flights from MAN land at bus gates, and I have previously missed a 1h MAN-FRA-NUE connection at FRA due to unexpected security queues and a very long walk to to the departure gate.
Outbound flight
Wed 14 Mar
09:20 – 12:05
Manchester (MAN) – Frankfurt (FRA)
----
Layover in Frankfurt FRA
1h 15m
----
13:20 – 08:30+1
Frankfurt (FRA) – Osaka (KIX)
11h 10m

This. It all depends on how critical an on time arrival in Osaka is for you - would it matter if you get there a day later? Longer layover - lower risk of misconnect.

But I understand that Business class travellers can use fast security lanes at FRA. Maybe that would reduce some of the risk.

Had it the other way round in March (HND-FRA-HAM) with a 2h layover. Since FRA-HAM was in C, I'd use 'fast' lane (~10min that day) and from that I'd recommend flying an hour earlier ex MAN, esp. with busgates in the play.

Thanks for the replies.
I'm not really happy with a 1h15 connection. Bus gates, the need to go through security, previous experience at FRA, only one flight per day to KIX from FRA if I miss the connection. Also, Business pax usually board an international flight ahead of the majority.
However, LH are happy to sell this connection. They must think it is viable, on a good day.

In your situation this would be too tight for my taste. Yes, it is doable if things are running smoothly and in most cases I believe yo can make it. But what if not? Are there other ways do get to KIX.
If you really need to be in KIX on time I would take the earlier MAN flight. If not there are some later connections FRA-KIX on the same day, and from my experience LH will rebook you.

It is also worth bearing in mind [in case of significant delay which could compromise your connection] that you might get the ad-hoc transfer arranged by LH i.e. a transfer agent awaiting as soon as you get off your MAN flight and making sure you get to the next gate on-time. Whilst I'd certainly not rely on it while booking a flight, I experienced it myself on a number of occasions and thus not unrealistic at all.

When using the Skyline train between B and Z, do you need to go through security pre or post the train ride?
