Forget it, the only way to make the connection from C where you most likely will arrive to the A gates is when the flight to FCO is really late and the incoming flight from DEL is early. Figure out with DEL efficiency how big your chance for that one is
As the posters said the immigration lines will be long and the flights in FRA close 15 mins before departure time. If you have machine readable EU passport you might try the new automatic entry gates in C, then rush out into the cold and reenter into A.
I suggest you book a later flight to FCO as the train ride or drive from FRA is very very loooong.

On top, to "guest somebody in" at the lounge and then leave soon afterwards is a little risky because the staff might insist her also to leave.

If your incoming flight is on time (and I mean on time on time, not 14 minutes late on time), it should be no problem. Check in online and make sure you get out of the plane very early and be prepared to sweettalk your way to the front of immigration and security queues.
MCT in FRA used to be 45 minutes all the time, it was changed to 60 minutes to compensate for delays. But it was very ok for on time arrivals.

The Delhi flight arrived today at B26 at 7:19 and yesterday B25 at 6:58.
The FCO flight left from A30 / A19 at 7:30 or 7:31.
If you are one of the first to deplane, no line at immigration, running thru the tunnel between B and A there is a very slim chance you would have made it yesterday.
If you are in the back of the bus or have to wait in line anywhere: forget it.

And that's exctly why the rules keep getting stricter and stricter because of this ongoing abuse. LH.com (in English) still has the lounge access rules where the companion needs to be on the same flight. The German version has been modified to "same day *A flight".

I can wholeheartedly agree to this - the IMHO constant abuse - others would say creativity ... - is making the rules being restricted more and more - just see the other blxxdy thread about ex FCT to MUC / ZRH to XXX with guest to YYY - just blxxdy funtastic - no wonder that the idiots who simply want to use what they would normally be entitled to are getting more and more shortchanged....

As others have said 40 mins is below the MCT and unless you are very, very lucky it seems unlikely that you'd make the connection.

You wrote "guest someone in" - whilst americaneze is far from my mothertongue - but having lived a few years there - it implies normally that you will bring someone into a location as your guest. It does not really say I will direct my sister to a lounge and she will make her own entry.
So what assumption is there....

I am flying DEL-FRA on the 13rd, arriving at 6:50AM...then to FCO on another ticket in a cheap bucket (E) at 7:30AM...
I'm wondering if this is even a "doable connection" I have a bad feeling about this, how nice is Lufthansa about their "flat tire rule" if Schengen Customs takes a while since we are arriving from India and my sister is heading back to the states on a 11am UA flight but have to guest her into a LH Lounge on my mad dash to the FCO Gate, can any FTers chime on this?
