Tight connection at FRA?
Hi to all,
Since this is the first time I use the FRA hub (usually go through CDG or AMS), I am wondering if 1h10 min is sufficient for connecting flights. I will be arriving from Singapore at 0600 and my connecting flight to BRU is at 0710. Although flights arrive and depart from the same terminal (terminal 1) i am not sure whether i will make this connection. Thanks in advance for your feedback

FRA is big and confusing but I have made connections with only 20 minutes. One thing the LH web site is good about is giving you gate information in advance. Before leaving SIN check the proposed arrival gate of your SIN flight and departure gate of your BRU flight. The LH inflight magazine and timetable both have FRA terminal maps. Taking a look at it will give you a good feel for navigation when you get to FRA. Of course, double check that gates don't change.

International transfer times in FRA
In January I am flying back from BLR through FRA to SFO. Both flights are LH 747s. The BLR/FRA flight lands at 0845 (obviously, since it is the only one each day) and the connecting FRA/SFO flight leaver at 0955.
This connection seems very tight to me and likely impossible if there are any security layers between the incoming and outgoing gates. Can a felow FTer tell me how far I'll need to walk and how many check points I will encounter? For example, do will I have to enter, then exit, the EU? Is there extra security checks for transit into tht US?
Thanks,
m.

I don't have any information on the specific transfers you'll need to make, but one piece of advice: if you at any point find yourself following directions to another terminal, and everyone is going through a doorway to stairs, where the door looks like it's more suited to a janitor's closet -- take the elevator. Those stairs go down about 5 flights, and there's no warning that it's a stupid way to go.

I've made tighter US-bound connections in FRA before, but you are on the edge of reasonability. You may need to hoof it if your inbound is delayed.
Plan on at least one security control for US-bound flights. Depending on your arrival gate in FRA, you may need to leave security and go into a non-secure terminal.

You will need to clear a security check. All flights to the US require one.
As long as your inbound LH from BLR is on time or early, you'll be fine. There's a map of the terminal arrangement on the Fraport website: http://www.airportcity-frankfurt.de.

I've had a couple of occasions in the past couple of years where I've arrived at FRA on an LH 747 and been deplaned by stairs and bus. No joke, it took ~45 min to get to the terminal. Hopefully something like this won't do you in.

"Since all travel is on LH and not on UA, I will move this to the Miles and More Forum.
"
The flights are all actually UA code shares and I trust the UA FT community to have had the relevant experiences plus being willing to impart it objectively. Sorry if I broke protocol.

70 mins should be enough to connect from LH to LH and as others have said there's no need to clear immigration to enter the EU or go through customs. There may be at least one security check point.
Although FRA may seem complicated you shouldn't have any problem if you just follow the signs to your departure gate.

We have routinely done <60 min connections through FRA. The biggest hassle can be security re-screening if they don't have enough checkpoints open, as was the case last time our flight arrived at 6am. You should have no trouble - just don't stop for a coffee break on the way to the gate.

tight connection in FRA with LH
Arriving from IAH on LH 441 connecting in FRA to LH 686 (I think) an hour later. (T-1, land 9:05, depart to TLV 10:05).
If I miss the connection, the next LH flight is only 12 hours later.
If I do, is there a chance they will work with me and fly me to TLV with a different carrier rather then LH? Austrian/Swiss/Turkish?
I'm traveling on C class.
Thanks!
