Eastbound flights tend to be a bit early, so chances are you'll be more than fine. Baggage makes no difference as it would be checked through anyway.

We are all assuming this is a single ticket but UA J and LH Y flights could also be on separate tickets. If that's the case I would not recommend it.

Had a new experience this week. I fly UK-FRA-US (and vice versa) a lot. Usually the UK-FRA flight either ends up at a non-Schengen B gate, or else we end up on a bus heading to AEUW (which is preferable since I don't have to clear security to get the Z gates for my US flight).
However, this week, the UK flight ended at a Z gate, which made it really straight forward for my US-bound connection.

Evening flights from the UK sometimes arrive at Z gates and are great if you are connecting to another flight from Z. I’ve experienced it once or twice in the past. Unfortunately not many UK flights arrive at Z earlier in the day when many flights to the US depart from Z.

On Monday I will arrive from BRU at 1020 (CRJ aircraft so probably apron) and depart for MCO at 1305.
When I booked, MCO was LH metal and I planned to use the FCT, now it is AY for 4Y and flights seem to leave from C gates (C14, 15, 16). There’s only the Bistro lounge, which I don’t think I’ve ever visited.
I guess the apron driver will take me to FCL A and then I stay there as long as I dare (?) although there is walking + security + passport control involved in getting to C14-16. How late would I need to leave FCL A? EU passport holder.
I also see that 4Y068 departs 30-70 minutes late every day. Great…

I think i would do, FCL A, walk down the tunnel to B, have a glass of Pol Roger in the SEN B Corral & then not far to C

Or just take do immigration from A to Z, take the Skyline to the proper C stop (not B/C) and avoid most of the walk. No matter what you do, you will have to pass the security checkpoint at the C gates.
