Thanks, yes. Seems like it may be better then for me to simply stay inside non-Schengen at T2, take SkyLine directly to A/Z, and go through the Z central security, then down to A. Presumably for flights departing in the next 30 minutes or so, like I recall there is for A central security, there should be some way to bypass the long security line, if so is the case then around 9:30am, as I expect will be likely the case.

I guess FRAport doesn't deem this important enough to publish the status of this security checkpoint (open or closed) on the website, unfortunately..

A 55 mn connection time in Frankfurt, on a Sunday afternoon, arriving from Sofia (Bulgaria) and going to Paris : is it doable? SOF-FRA seems to be often 20-30 mn late on weekends.

If you don't have urgency ( ex: You are OK to take the next FRA-CDG ) flight, it would be OK but don't risk it if that flight combination is your only option.

Otherwise,
If the SOF-FRA flight arrives at Z gates, it's pretty doable
If the SOF-FRA flight arrives at B or C gates, security on Sundays is pretty horrible at FRA so you might not make it.

Be aware that the Z central security may not accept you during US departures due to document checks, SSSS formalities, etc...

Why? There are passengers who need to go through Z central security other than those flying to the US. Queues may be longer at certain times of the day but they cannot turn away passengers not flying to the US. Document checks for US departures do not take place at central security AFAIW.

It would actually depend on Z departures when there are only US departures at Z until afternoon, they don't let other passengers thru.
I've also witnessed an occasion, where a passenger was asked to wait until his departure time by the aviation security agents; indeed he was flying to Ankara ( before LH did drop the route ) at 21:00ish and he wasn't able to clear security at 15:00ish.

If I'm not wrong, it depends on the gates assigned to US flights. Sometimes it's before Z central security, sometimes it's somewhere between Z58-Z62.
When the document check is before Z central or upstairs security ( for transfer pax ), for FRA joining pax, they check documents before Z passport control at the upper level.

Sometimes flights from the UK (unfortunately) arrive at ANS bus gates at the bottom of Z central security and in order to connect from A or Z gate you have to go through Z central security. There is a separate check point for A departures though you end up in the same security line as the rest. But they can’t and won’t turn away passengers connecting from A gates at Z central security.

So if you have to catch a plane in a short time, I wouldn't risk it, at least not until we have confirmation that it is open again.
The door to take you from A concourse to the Skyline was not roped off when I was there 3 weeks ago.

It was on the B/C Schengen platform where I saw what I reported. There was an attendant telling passengers they could not get on the Skyline to go to A and also telling passengers who came from T2 to get off there (and to go through B security + tunnel or A central security). The Skyline of course continues to run between B/C and A/Z so non-Schengen passengers coming from T2 can continue to Z. Non-Schengen passengers can also travel between Z and B/C/T2.

However, as you will see in another thread there was power outage which closed down part of A security on the day I was there. It is possible that the closure of A security for Skyline passengers was temporary.

What would you claim is the fastest way to go from Senator lounge at B43 and to Z50, out of the three options, when flying in Business class?

* The skyline train from B to Z
* Out and in through A/Z security
* Out and in through B security and then the tunnel

Hmm...so still probably better clear immigration at T2 upon arrival, then take SkyLine (Schengen) from T2 hopefully to T1-A, but if that is still closed then to T1-B and just walk - at a brisk pace - the rest of the way (to the public public security checkpoint for A).

As I recall, for flights departing in the next 30 minutes (or what not), one will be allowed to bypass the long security lines, from the last time I was unfortunate enough to have to connect in FRA.

If going from B to Z I’d take the Skyline train. I think this is the “official” route and avoid having to go through passport control twice. Important especially if holding a passport which does not allow you to use ePass gates.

The other two options involve passport control twice in addition to security.

Although not relevant to this particular question the best way to go from B non-Schengen to A is a little more tricky.

That's hopeful news, will check again next time I'm in FRA, but that would be next month at the earliest.

That's indeed the door for the SkyLine, it looks like it was unguarded even! IIRC this leads to stairs only. There are elevators behind them - the elevators that take pax from the checkpoint down to the concourse - but I think you need a staff member (the guard I presume) to call and operate them going up.

I like how they put a sticker with a text on that door. It's impossible to read that standing before the door because the door slides open automatically. And if you'd keep standing too long inside the doorway to read the text, you'd most likely trigger an alarm, as that door is a boundary between airside and landside with a strict "point of no return" policy. I should snap a pic of what the sticker says next time.

So, this bus that runs from clean arrivals in Z to B and avoids transit security, where does it run from? On LH419 landing in a couple hours connecting to TG and would love to avoid not only transit security but the long, long walk as well. Thanks!
