Beware that both the arrival and departure gates can and do change from day to day. LH1214 to GVA usually departs from a bus gate (e.g. A52) but departed from B05 today which means a walk through the transfer tunnel after passport control.

If arriving at Z50+ the only feasible passport control is close to gate Z13. Just follow the signs for A gates. If arriving at Z20s there should be signs pointing towards passport control by gate Z25 if it is open.

Got the email and they said it only applies to connections becoming illegal. I was surprised and very unhappy too, but could not convince them to change my first flight.

Yes, the message was in German and said I should call within 14 days, if I need to make changes. But when I called, they said I cannot change it for free, as the connection is still legal (P fare).
Going through FRA to a really important meeting “legal” is not enough for me.

Because of the need to go through passport control and possibly transfer security, and that you can't get a later flight and still make the cruise, it sounds to me like the cruise company needs to know about the implications, and if LH won't help you, the cruise company should.

The business lounge near A13 is normally the fullest. The Panorama lounge (opposite of A26) and the 2nd business lounge (one floor above A26) are normally calmer and also provide a better view on to the tarmac.

The Panorama lounge would also be my recommendation: great view and very different atmosphere.
