Hi, I'm transiting via frankfurt tomorrow BHX-FRA-IST
I arrive at the bus gate (AEUW) and depart gate B54 - usually when arriving at the bus gates I've ended up going through security again, but that's going non schengn to schengen - Will I have to do that this time? Or is there an alternative (I've got plenty of time, but will probably check my bag if I need to go through security again)

Maybe with the bus that seems to be running now this is also possible?

Bus, Z to B
AEUW is great if you are connecting from an A or Z gate but useless if you are connecting from B non-Schengen as far as I know. You'll have to hope there is a transfer bus from Z to B running so you can go to B without having to clear security. I'm not sure where the transfer bus to B leaves in relation to AEUW but I'd try and ask someone from LH/FRAport as soon as you enter the terminal. If not, follow the signs for Z and look for a sign for the transfer bus.
Please report back how you get on.

In the end I wound up using the AEUW->A->B route via two passport controls. The non-EU line at A passport control was significant at 7:00 A.M., and non-existent at B.

I have an evening Schengen-FRA-Longhaul trip coming up where the connection time is about 1.5h. Between the evening flight time (ie possibility of delays accumulating through the day) the stories about slowpoke FRA security, and the need to queue for non-EU exit immigration, all of this is a bit scary. How worried should I be about missing the second flight? And in the event that I do, is it relatively painless to get reaccommodated or do I need to keep records of queues etc. to prove I didn’t waste an hour taking my own sweet time at a bar? What’s the best place to arrange the rebooking - at Flight Connections or in a lounge?
sorry for all these questions as I don’t fly LH that often and like to be prepared!

If you missed the flight and did not take your sweet time at a bar, reaccommodation is usually easy, either via phone, at the lounge or at one of the LH service desks.

I have a 50 minute connection time at FRA between LH177 from TXL and LH462 to Miami. Could anyone estimate the probability that I might miss the flight - I am a reasonably fit 68-year old?

Even the slightest delay out of TXL, which are not uncommon, will make you miss the flight. I would try to change it to an earlier flight from TXL, but since the connection is legal, LH may not let you.

I wish you good luck. Last year we had a 50 min connection from inbound FCO to outbound IAH. Landed at a A bus gate and of course departed the furthest Z gate possible. We arrived late. Passport control on Z was a zoo. Plus, they check your passport a further time once upstairs for access to the concourse. Be prepared to run. It’s pretty common.

Been awhile since I had a FRA layover - I'm arriving on SQ25 from JFK and departing on SQ325 to SIN later that evening so I would like to enter Germany . If I recall correctly, I will be able to take a shower in the SEN or MLL lounge before clearing immigration?

Yes, you can with your departing BP to SIN but you will have to clear transfer security to go to the SEN or MLL lounge. After leaving the lounge you will have to re-enter the transfer area before clearing passport control.

If you are still *G then yes, although you might need to clear security.

Thank you - I have to clear transfer security arriving from JFK? I know SQ25 passengers are required to undergo transfer security even if they are continuing to JFK. Admittedly I usually fly UA into FRA so I can't remember the intricacies with the B pier.
And after leaving the lounge I will just follow the "Ausgang" signs.

(e.g. see this post in the SQ forum -- https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/30722861-post623.html -- when deplaning terminating passengers are sent up the stairs to the third floor to immigration/customs, while continuing passengers exit on the second floor into the secure area, but they don't really check for a continuing BP so I think it's possible to just exit into the secure area with the FRA-SIN pax)
